How to create “Magic Moments” with your spouse

Love is for a lifetime – but keeping the flame alive does take some effort. Relationships are not easy to maintain and sometimes, we need to remind ourselves how it feels to date our loved ones. Creating magic moments with your spouse is much easier than you may even think – and you don’t have to break the bank to book a cruise to the Caribbean.

In fact, magic moments rely on something completely different than the extravagant luxuries we see in the movies. Cooking together, having a romantic dinner, dancing – these things really create the kind of moments that bring us closer together.

So, how do you create magic moments from scrap? Here are some tips to keep in mind:

  • Choose some easy to make dishes and make a list of all the things you will need in order to prepare them (and this includes the kitchen tools, the spices and just about everything else). See what you have and what you should buy and make sure to take that list with you when out grocery shopping.

  • Choose drinks that suit the meal, but make sure to refrigerate them if they need to.

  • Make sure to set the mood. Flowers and candles usually work wonders, but what is an absolute “must” is the music. Choose a good range of songs you both like and make sure to have at least 3 CDs around, as this may take a while. Also, play the more uplifting/energetic songs first and slowly make the transition to the mellower, softer and more romantic ones. Extra tip: Italian music always works wonderfully with romantic dinners!
