Romance and chocolate couldn’t go together more perfectly!

They say chocolate can cure anything – and here, at To Romance With Love, we truly believe in the power delicious foods have to bring people together, to help them be happier and to build stronger, more well-balanced relationships.

What do romance and chocolate have in common, though? Is it a simple association we’ve been making due to Hollywood’s scenarios, or is there a real fundament to the connection between the two?

We have gathered some interesting information for you to know – so read on and find out more.

  • Yes, the connection is far more real than many assume. Chocolate is not only delicious, but also quite healthy when consumed in moderation (and especially in its darker, milk-free varieties). Studies show that a moderate consumption of chocolate can have a great effect on the nervous system, on the heart and circulatory system, as well as on many other areas of the body.

  • The two main compounds in cocoa that are responsible with the beneficial effects are caffeine and theobromine (also a “relative” of caffeine, but with a higher concentration). These two ingredients stimulate thinking and, most importantly, increase serotonin levels.

  • Research also shows that the higher the serotonin levels are, the more sexually active a person will be. Therefore, chocolate can actually increase the sexual activity and make us happier, more romantic and more inclined to actually connect with each other!

  • What are you waiting for? Put on the chef hat and cook an amazing chocolate cake with your loved one! It will have a truly beneficial effect on your relationship, bringing you closer and making you feel happier in each other’s company!
